Don’t be tricked by Suzuki! Suzuki GSX R-1000 motorcycle recalled.

Suzuki has sent a Voluntary Safety Recall to the buyers of their Suzuki GSX R-1000 motorcycle for the model years of 2005 and 2006.

As a motorcycle accident injury lawyer that has helped many seriously injured bikers after an accident all throughout North Florida, including Daytona Beach, for over 37 years, I found the wording of Suzuki’s recall to be vague and self serving. I sounds to me that Suzuki wrote this recall with the very intention of lawsuits in mind. In the recall, Suzuki writes that they are not responsible for any injuries or damages caused as a result of it breaking. However, they are legally responsible but, in the wording of the recall they are telling people they are not. Legally, if someone manufactures a defective product they are responsible. This recall is trying to trick people into not pursuing legal action against them.

In addition, according to the recall, “To reassure your confidence in your Suzuki GSX-R1000, Suzuki will provide a five year warranty on your frame and the frame reinforcement brace….” Remember, this warranty only provides protection for the bike, not the biker. Suzuki takes no responsibility for the biker seriously injured as a result of this major frame defect. However, just because Suzuki says they are not legally responsible does not make it so.

Anyone seriously injured as a result of this defective motorcycle should immediately consult an attorney.
